 incorporating beauty wellness into your daily routine!

When you take proper care of your body by getting enough sleep, exercise, water and properly nourishing your body with the nutrients it needs, the result is a thriving healthier and younger-looking version of you. But now you’re asking yourself, “How do I incorporate beauty wellness into my daily life?”

First of all, this shouldn’t be overwhelming. You don’t need to do this all at one time. Adding healthy habits to your beauty wellness routine should be easy – no need for you to throw away all of your current products and start over from scratch! Little steps and small commitments are the best way to start making these new habits a permanent addition to your lifestyle. 

New Healthy Habits

Have you noticed that you get super excited about something and you throw yourself into a new routine – like deciding to get in shape and going to the gym every day at the beginning of a new year - and then you miss a day and then a few more and then you realize you’ve stopped going all together…

Why is it so hard to form new healthy habits? Studies have shown It can take anywhere from 18 to 254 days for a person to form a new habit and it takes an average of 66 days for a new behavior to become automatic.  Why such a range? It really depends on the scope of the habit as well as the person - some people adapt quickly to routine while others need more time – and that’s ok! 

Keys to Establishing a New Healthy Habit

  • Start Small
  • Pick one thing to work on at a time and then identify small things you can do to incorporate it into your routine. Example - you want to start an exercise routine. Don’t start with plans to exercise 7 days a week. Instead, make a more realistic plan and try to stick to it – you can always add on to it in the future! Can’t get to the gym 3x a week? That’s ok – on the day’s you can’t make it to the gym, go outside and take a walk, even if it’s a quick one! Starting small will help you incorporate change into your beauty wellness routine without becoming overwhelmed.

  • Tie to an Existing Habit
  • The best way to form a new habit is to tie it to an existing habit. Morning routines tend to be our strongest routines so that is a great place to add a new habit! Like when you have your cup of coffee - or Glotrition Beauty Elixir – how about tagging on a one-minute breathing or meditation exercise? 

  • Reward Yourself
  • Rewarding yourself is another great way to help implement good habits. The end result is often the ultimate reward, but it can help you stay motivated to celebrate small accomplishments along the way. Back to our exercise example – when you complete your weekly exercise goal, reward yourself with new music or a new audio book that you can listen to while working out the following week. Or maybe you want to start a new daily skincare regimen – after successfully completing the first week, reward yourself with a new make-up item.  

    Good habits happen when we set ourselves up for success. So look for small changes in your daily activities that will help you improve your beauty wellness and ultimately result in a happier and healthier you!
