Beauty Sleep is a Real Thing

Beauty Sleep is a Real Thing

We could ALL use a little help in the sleep department...especially after this last year. Amiright?

But, not all sleep is created equal. There's a difference between regular sleep and what we call "beauty sleep". The term beauty sleep refers to a deep, regenerative sleep when our body is actually renewing and repairing itself.

The experts call this "restorative sleep", and it's more important than you probably imagined. Every system in the body relies on this time to clean and reset. Without it, toxins build up and cellular health is put in jeopardy.

A lack of restorative sleep can wreak havoc on our skin. Dark circles, sallow complexion, breakouts...these are all signs of a breakdown in cellular renewal. Without the right amount (7-9 hours) of high quality sleep, the skin can't repair the damage that it endures daily from UV exposure, pollution and other environmental aggressors. And no cream or serum in the world can make up for it.

This "beauty sleep" state is also the time skin cells are busy devouring and storing nutrients from the day. Do you feed your body and your skin high quality fuel every day? If your answer is "Umm...", then you're not alone. Most of us don't take in enough high quality nutrients in our diets alone.

This is where evening supplements come into play. A little "boost", if you will, to feed your cells and help them do what they do.

So, how do you ensure high quality sleep and which supps are most important? Let's break it down.

Melatonin is a hormone that our bodies make naturally. Like other hormones, Melatonin has many jobs. One of the most important is to regulate the sleep cycle. Melatonin doesn’t actually put you to sleep but instead lets the body know that it’s nighttime, so you start to relax and fall asleep easier.

As well as making us sleepy, Melatonin is a powerful antioxidant that works to counteract damage to the skin during the day from aggressors we talked about before like UV exposure and pollution.

Sadly, like most other things, Melatonin levels decrease as we age making Beauty Sleep even harder to come by. Taking a high quality Melatonin supplement before bedtime can help.

When it comes to nighttime supplements, focus on those that can help accelerate the overnight skin renewal process like Vitamins C, D, and E.

Want to make optimal use of your Restorative Sleep Cycle? We got you! Glotrition's new Sleep Beauty Booster Shot is a concentrated dietary supplement that includes an ultra-pure Melatonin, Selenium, and Chamomile to help with relaxation and sleep quality along with all the right nutrients to help boost overnight skin renewal.

Our Sleep Beauty Booster also includes a micro dose of Aloe Sterols, clinically proven to increase skin hydration, and improve wrinkles, and skin elasticity. Just take 2 droppers full (2ml) directly into your mouth 30 minutes before bedtime and, voila!

 Here’s to a Restorative Night’s Sleep!
